  • Jamming Mitigation | ERM Telematics

Jamming Mitigation ERM’s Jamming Mitigation solution is intended to report in events of vehicle theft where cellular Jammers have been used. Once a jammer is activated near a vehicle which is installed with a GSM/GPS tracking device, then the vehicle disappears and can’t be tracked or seen in the tracking software, as the cellular and GPS reception is blocked. If the vehicle is being stolen by using a Jammer, this results in a very low chance of recovering the stolen vehicle. In order to help retrieve the stolen jammed vehicle, ERM developed its patented eConnect technology. eConnect is a dual communication technology-based solution, which enables RF communication between vehicles. ERM’s Jamming Mitigation solutions allow persistent tracking of stolen vehicles, even with Jammers on board. eConnect uses the AVL technology to identify jamming situations, and automatically switches the communication to RF (LORA), alerting all vehicles in the vicinity that the vehicles has been stolen. Other vehicles (or objects along the way) that use the same solution, will then report, using their own cellular communication, about the event and share the vehicle identification, whereabouts, barring and speed for farther actions by the SVR provider. ERM’s Jamming Mitigation solution can be implemented on any vehicle type and requires power and a SIM card in order to operate, so it can also be installed on non-mobile elements. The technology can be customized for use in various applications, in this case, for Stolen Vehicle Recovery (SVR) services. • Prevent CANbus Hacking | ERM Telematics

Prevent CANbus Hacking Integrated hardware-software solution that protects vehicles against ransomware and other cyber-attacks. The solution is suited for both OEMs and the aftermarket. The solution's uniqueness is that it can be installed in a vehicle by authorized parties, such as vehicle importers and fleet managers in the aftermarket stage, after the vehicle left the factory as well as by the OEM itself during the manufacturing process. To prevent CANbus hacking, the solution is installed between the vehicle's external communications device and the vehicle’s CANbus (Controller Area Network Bus). The solution performs as a secure gateway for outside communications to the CANbus, allowing only communications with predefined and known parameters and values to go through. At the same time, it immediately blocks any unrecognized communications to and from the CANbus. In this way, no malicious digital communications can disrupt the functioning of the vehicle. Cybersecurity attacks are emerging as some of the most serious cyber risks that connected vehicles have to face. During a cybersecurity attack in a connected car, hackers remotely connect to the car, damage or block it, and require the owner to pay a ransom to resume its proper operation. • DRIVING BEHAVIOR | ERM Telematics

DRIVING BEHAVIOR ERM’s Driving Behavior technology answers the need to educate drivers, while they drive, and simultaneously log their behavior for management and future use. The Driving Behavior technology includes a 3-dimentional black box application that provides accurate and relevant information regarding the driver’s activities and maneuvers before and during an accident event. ERM’s Driving Behavior distinguishes between different types of maneuvers, and reports violation according to the level of severity. The technology was designed for simple and fast implementation, and thus differentiate between different types of vehicles, allowing accurate reporting. During an accident event, the Driving Behavior technology automatically launches its black-box feature that logs 75 seconds before and after the impact. The data is registered in a very high sampling rate (1mS) including time stamp and location of each sample record, thereby enabling very accurate and detailed accident reconstruction and analysis for the fleet manager and/or insurance companies use.
